Kindergarten Overview

295 South Kinzer Road
Paradise, PA 17562-9790
School Hours: 8:30am - 3:00pm

Our kindergarten students come to school 3 days a week. We have a Monday, Wednesday, Thursday section and a Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday section.  Our program focuses on teaching students how to show the love of Jesus to others. It is a great introduction to school and teaches students how to work in a classroom environment.

Students learn that the Bible is God’s Word and it is true. We sing songs, hear Bible stories, and memorize Bible verses together.

Students learn how to help in the classroom and are given different jobs and responsibilities.

Throughout the year students learn the letters of the alphabet. By the end of the year students are learning how to read words and sentences.

We read lots of stories with the students and partner with the older grades for “book buddies”. This is a time when the older students come and read books with their kindergarten buddy.

In math we take a hands-on approach to learn numbers, understand patterns, count, and so much more.

Students also learn to how play with friends during choice time and centers. They learn how to cooperate and work together. They also learn how to take care of their bodies.

Kindergarten is a time for exploration and discovery. We use all 5 of our senses to learn!

Our instructional program also offers specials like art, library, music, and P.E.

At Linville Hill Christian School, we do our best to provide kindergarten students with the best faith-based education that meets the unique needs of each child

Meet our K-5 Principal

Mrs. Ashtin Matherly, k-5 Principal

In our elementary program, our teachers work to create a caring atmosphere where students feel safe and cared for as they develop building blocks that serve as their foundation for learning.

In addition to our core academic subjects, students learn to develop their creative and leadership gifts in art, music, library, and physical education.  Daily classroom devotions, weekly chapel services and Bible class also provide time and space for students to connect with God.

Collectively, our youngest students are given opportunities to grow in faith, service, and learning during these important years of their development.
