The Arts

Arts at Linville Hill

Developing a passion for art and music

Music and art are important parts of our program.

Genesis 1:27 says, "So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them."

The Creator of the universe created man in His image to be creative.  We are designed to create with our hands, to find creative solutions with our minds, and to glorify Him in our creativity.

K-8 Arts

From Kindergarten through 8th grade, students have music each week and are invited to grow in their understanding of the role of music and how they can develop their own musical talent.

In addition to music class, beginning in 2nd grade weekly instrumental lessons that are integrated into the school day are available on a variety of instruments (piano, guitar, drums, strings).  In high school, electives such as music theory, vocal ensemble, and guitar, are available alongside ongoing lesson opportunities.  Our annual Christmas and Spring programs provide opportunities for our students to showcase their musical talent.

Students in kindergarten through 6th grade receive intentional art instruction in art theory and different styles of art. Middle school students are able to choose an art elective where they continue to learn fine art techniques and grow in their artistic abilities. Our hallways are filled with beautiful works of art showing students understanding of color theory and shading techniques.

High school Arts

The Arts at the high school offer pathways for students to explore their gifts.  Students have discovered that speechless expressions of creativity have given voice to that which we have no words for in this world.  Opportunities this school year include:  Voice, Guitar, Piano, Journalism, Art, and Yearbook. The high school celebrates a year of student work each spring during our Spring Arts Blast. We also have talented artists who showcase their work to the glory of God (below).
